About Us

Abbey's DogI am John Nasser and I have been surrounded by antiques for many years. My father collected antiques and as much as I enjoyed the beauty of them I really never appreciated them until I started collecting them myself. About two years ago I attended my first auction and I found some interesting pieces but held back from purchasing any items. After a few auction visits I finally made my first purchase, once I did that, it has been non-stop fun. I purchased one or two things each time and after a few months I found myself addicted and I haven’t stopped since. Earlier this year my girlfriend Robin and I attended an auction, in the beginning she was reluctant, then she saw items that sparked her interest. Once we bid on those items and won, the excitement began for her as well. Next thing we knew, we were looking for an auction or garage sale each weekend. As you can imagine, now she has the bug too! After collecting and storing all of our prized items we discussed how we would start selling them on line thru ebay and craigs list. Then one day we decided to take it a step further and we opened a shop at 911 W. Market St in North Scranton. We decided to name our store after our favorite Goldendoodle Abbey, this is how Abbey’s Antiques and Collectibles was founded.

We are open 9:30am – 5:30pm, closed weekends. Robin and I are at the store on the weekends while we have friends watching the store during the week. If those hours do not work for you, appointments are welcome. Meetings with Abbey are available upon request (bring treats!).
